Why is help important

What can you do?

  • Mentoring

Meetings between refugees and volunteers and spending leisure time together.

This involves primarily helping out with the Czech language, accompanying in dealing with authorities, attending cultural and sports events together and so on.

The content of the meetings depends on the arrangement between the refugee and the mentor.

Mentoring is intended for volunteers who can work with clients for at least six months and meet them at least once a week.

  • Site visits

Visits to integration asylum residence centres where volunteers prepare leisure activities for clients.

This involves primarily organising trips, handiwork and sports for asylum residence centre residents, leisure activities for children etc.

Site visits are intended for those volunteers who cannot meet clients regularly but still want to help. Site visits take place approximately once a month. We always send out information about a new site visit and you can register for the date that suits you.

  • One-time help

This means helping with the preparation of one-off events - conferences, discussions, public events and festivals and also helping with packing clothes for asylum residence centres or wrapping Christmas gifts.

These activities are irregular - they happen as needed. We send information about the upcoming events to people interested in helping on a one-time basis so they can register at their convenience.
