Information provided by Organizace pro pomoc uprchlíkům, z.s., on personal data processing in relation to the coordination of the unhcr’s "iDobrovolník" volunteer database

In connection with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) we would like to inform you about the manner in which we process personal data.

The controller will receive, process, and store personal data for the following purposes:

  1. Personal data controller

    The personal data controller is: Organizace pro pomoc uprchlíkům, z.s. (Organization for Aid to Refugees), having its registered office at Kovářská 4, 190 00, Praha 9.

    Any of the controller’s employees are authorised to process personal data.

  2. The personal data that are subject to processing:

    • First name and surname

    • Date of birth

    • Gender

    • Address of residence

    • Category of residence

    • Number of the travel document

    • Number of the visa or of the residence permit certificate

    • The registration number and/or the reference number in administrative and court proceedings

    • Data on income and expenditure

    • Data on employment

    • Data on education

    • Data provided in structured CVs

    • Data on the family status

    • Data on the number of people living in a common household

    • E-mail address

    • Telephone number

    Special categories of personal data that may be processed in specific cases:

    • Data concerning health

    • Data revealing racial or ethnic origin

    • Data on political opinions

    • Data on religion

    • Data on sexual orientation

    • Biometric and genetic data

  3. The purposes for which personal data will be processed and stored

    • For entering into contracts

    • For the legitimate interests pursued by the organisation

    • For compliance with legal obligations

    • For the consent given by the data subject

    • For provision to third parties, which include partner organisations and institutions in particular projects, project awarding entities, subsidy providers, and supervisory authorities

  4. The period for which the personal data will be stored

    The controller will store personal data for the strictly necessary period. The controller will store personal data for ten years, or for the period of mandatory project data storage.

  5. The manner in which personal data will be processed and stored:

  6. Rights of data subjects (in particular, without limitation, data subjects included in OPU projects, candidates for employment with OPU, OPU employees, OPU co-workers including interpreters, OPU volunteers, and OPU newsletter subscribers) to information and to access to personal data:

    • As a personal data subject, I have the right of access to my personal data, and the right to their rectification or erasure, or restriction of their processing. I have the right to request information on which of my personal data are being processed and I have the right to request explanations concerning the processing of my personal data. I also have the right to object to processing and the right to data portability (i.e., the right to receive the personal data concerning me, which I have provided to the controller, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format). The request model form is available on the website at

    • I have the right to withdraw my consent at any time. The withdrawal of my consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal, if the processing is based on consent given or on a legal ground. This means that I do not have such right when, in particular, but without limitation, processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the controller is subject.

    • As a personal data subject I have been informed that I can withdraw my consent to the provision of my personal data at any time in writing (in a letter or via e-mail) or in an oral statement for the record.

    • As a personal data subject I have the right to request information about the processing of my personal data, and the controller shall provide such information without undue delay.

    • As a personal data subject I have the right, when in doubt as to compliance with the obligations related to personal data processing, to contact OPU or to resort to the Office for Personal Data Protection.

OPU represents that there is no automated processing, including profiling, in the processing of personal data. OPU represents that the personal data are not being processed for scientific or historical research purposes.
